Charlotte City Council Proceedings

MARCH 11TH, 2025

Mayor Kelly Snyder called the regular meeting of the Charlotte City Council to order at 6:00 PM with council members Snyder, Labarr, Eberhart and Hosette present. Lamaack was absent.

The consent agenda included the approval of the agenda, the clerk’s financial report, the minutes of the February 11th regular meeting of 2025, and the following revenues and expenses:

A motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Hosette with a second by Labarr. All ayes.

 

Public Forum: 

No written or oral comments were made.

 

            A motion to set Charlotte Clean-Up days for May 3rd & 4th was made by Hosette with a second by Snyder. All ayes.

            A motion to send a letter to the Northeast School District regarding baseball games held in the city of Charlotte was made by Snyder with a second by Labarr. All ayes.

            A motion to keep participation with the Dewitt library the same as last year was made by Hosette with a second by Eberhart. All ayes.

            A motion to donate $100.00 each to Crime Stoppers and Northeast prom was made by Eberhart with a second by Labarr. All ayes. These donations will be voted on yearly.

Cameron Costello and Kyle Burke from the Charlotte Fire Department attended the meeting to discuss with the council the next steps in building a new fire station.

Mayor Snyder was served papers regarding the Thomas Pitts foreclosure. The city is owed $1870.00 from Pitts and was advised by the city attorney that to pursue this is a moot point since more money that is owed will be spent on attorney’s fees. Two payments have been made from Pitts through the clerk of courts.

            A motion to not pursue payment if the clerk of courts payments cease was made by Snyder with a second by Labarr. All ayes.

 

Reports-

Mayor Snyder reported that since BWP has only reimbursed a small portion of the returned flooring, that she will personally make up the difference. She also mentioned that nobody has offered to take over Charlotte Days.

Rhonda reported that she is waiting on bids for carpet for city hall. She also discussed bids for a lawn mower and tractor.

Eberhart reported that he has received many phone calls regarding the junk vehicles in town.

 

Motion to adjourn at 7:03 PM by Snyder with a second by Labarr. All Ayes.
